Our Children Build Nest Boxes

A while ago, we asked you: What would you guess is our plan for a couple wooden planks? Today, we want to reveal the secret: We built nest boxes together with our children!

These small, artistic houses - lovingly painted and decorated by our children - have found their homes in our school yard and the children can barely wait to see the first birds move in. For many of the children who grow up in refugee camps, a life in nature often feels distant. With projects like this, we want to show them how important it is to protect animals and create living environments for them - even in harsh living conditions.

The nest boxes stand symbollicaly for many things: for values of community, creativity, and the hope for a home - for birds, but also for us all.

This project connects environmental education with a creative experience that was not only enjoyable for our children, but also taught them the importance of nature surrounding us.

What do you think: When will the first birds be moving in?
