Excursion to the American University in Semel

Daring to look into the future

This week brought another exciting excursion: we visited the American University in Semel with our oldest children. On site they got a guided tour and could ask the staff and students all their questions about the different degree programmes. On excursions like this, one thing matters most to us: the children are shown possible prospects for their future and are at the same time reminded how important schooling is when it comes to making their own decisions.

Once they can see which paths education opens up and what they have to do for it, they also know what and why they are already investing in their future. Those who perform well are even supported financially with scholarships for their dream degree.

The students’ architecture projects, the classrooms, the lecture halls and the library particularly captivated the children: they could not stop marvelling. Some of them said afterwards that they were now highly motivated to take this path one day as well. Our children’s wishes are very individual, but we keep encouraging them to discover new paths and possibilities so that in the end they can decide completely unhindered.
